Vir Festival returns on August 14–15, 2024, continuing its community-focused approach in southern North Macedonia. The event moves to a new location at Toplik, a former basin transformed into an urban park featuring open landscapes, a central lake, and dense greenery.

Natural Setting and Atmosphere

The new venue, located among maple trees on the outskirts of Gevgelija, contributes to the festival’s identity. Even during midsummer, the shaded environment provides a comfortable atmosphere. Visitors can move between music, rest, and exploration at their own pace. The festival aims to integrate with nature while keeping the environment as its central focus.

Headliners and Music Program

The 2024 lineup is led by S.A.M, a noted figure in the European electronic scene. Known as part of the Mandar trio, S.A.M blends deep house rhythm with melodic elements rooted in traditional house music.

Also joining the program is Monile, a Moroccan DJ and producer with ties to Barcelona and Berlin. Her performances emphasize minimal structures, vinyl selections, and club-oriented soundscapes blending house and techno influences.

Supporting Artists and Local Focus

The wider schedule includes a mix of established and emerging artists such as Lerro, Vasko, Denny Trajkov, YOTA, g.hn, Batka, Aki, Mande, Yell, Firma, and Rtikenc. This reflects Vir’s continued commitment to supporting regional talent alongside international names.

Previous editions have hosted artists including XDB and HearThug. However, the event remains dedicated to creating a space for connection and collaboration rather than large-scale expansion.

Festival Direction and Experience

With its focus on natural surroundings, curated programming, and strong community ties, Vir Festival offers an alternative to larger summer events. The combination of setting and design emphasizes atmosphere, continuity, and a sustainable approach to festival culture.

Tickets and further details are available through the official Vir Festival website.
