Berlin RAW Gelaende has introduced a new campaign that presents the site as a central space for cultural and social activity. The initiative, called Berlin ist RAW, aims to show how the area combines creative, social and recreational uses.

Campaign Focus on Cultural and Social Value

The site on Revaler Strasse hosts a wide range of activities. These include studios, circus programmes, skate halls and climbing facilities. It also features long running clubs such as Cassiopeia and Lokschuppen. As a result, the former industrial complex attracts more than one million visitors each year.

Florian Falkenhagen of RAW Kultur L e G said, “With this campaign, we want to highlight the diverse and socially relevant offerings on the RAW grounds.” He added, “For me, the RAW grounds are unique because, right in the heart of Berlin, they not only host cultural and social events, but also provide a space where urban development can still be actively shaped.”

Support From the Berlin Club Commission

The Berlin Club Commission has expressed support for the initiative. The organisation stated on Instagram, “RAW represents club culture, community, art and inclusion, a space that cannot simply be replaced.” It added, “It deserves long term security and clear and honest commitment for all being affected.”

Role of RAW Kultur L e G

RAW Kultur L e G was founded in 2018. The group works to protect cultural and social uses that do not operate for commercial profit. The campaign encourages residents and media to re engage with the site through its full day to night programme.
