Juno Download has shut down after operating for nearly two decades as a digital music retailer. The company confirmed the closure in a statement on its website.

“It’s been our privilege to share some of the most incredible music from the most amazing artists,” the statement read. “But we’re sorry to say, that the time has come to say goodbye.”

Service Closure and Customer Access

Juno Download launched in 2006 and became a widely used platform for DJs and collectors. It operated alongside the physical retailer Juno Records and served as a key outlet during the growth of digital music sales.

The company stated that customers can still access their accounts and download previous purchases. In addition, users can contact customer support for assistance.

Users were also directed to alternative platforms, including:
– Beatport
– Traxsource

Ownership and Industry Context

Juno Download was acquired by a United States company in 2013. Over time, the digital music market shifted toward streaming services and direct artist distribution.

Juno Download COO Lucas Garcia said, “It’s obviously a sad day, but as streaming has become the dominant model of digital music consumption, artists and labels are now more connected than ever with their fans via social media and ‘direct to fan’ services like Bandcamp, so the role of the music webstore is becoming less significant.”

Additional Updates

At the time of writing, the platform’s Instagram account appears to have been removed. The article was updated on June 1 to include Lucas Garcia’s statement.

For account access or support, users can visit the official Juno Download website.
