fabric has completed new sound system upgrades in Rooms 2 and 3. The project involved technical manager Matt Smith and Norwegian company NNNN Audio. Each room received a custom design based on its layout.

Room 2 Sound System Upgrade

Room 2 now features a system built for even coverage. The design focuses on full range output and added low end support. According to Smith, “In Room 2, it’s a six-point system—really a quad with side fills—but the unique thing here is the multicell full-range boxes with a 21-inch bass horn on top.” He added, “We’ve also got seven bass bins around the room in a horseshoe shape.”

Room 3 Improvements and Installation

Room 3 required a more complex setup due to its structure. Smith said, “Room 3’s actually really tricky, but the most impressive thing about that system is the new subs in there—they can wobble the concrete floor. We did the acoustic panels, removed the old system and put this new system up within five days, then opened for a 24-hour event.”

Recent Upgrade Timeline

These changes follow the major Room 1 upgrade in 2024. They are also the first full updates to Room 2 since 2016 and to Room 3 since 2018.
