This year’s Sound Art Festival will take place in Berlin’s recently shuttered TXL. In terminals A and B from August 21 to September 5, Sonambiente Berlin TXL is touted as a “farewell to Berlin TXL” and an “event for sights and sounds.” A virtual reality installation and sound performances by artists such as Laurie Anderson & Hsin-Chien Huang, Emeka Ogboh, Blixa Bargeld, Felix Kubin, Scanner, and Electric Indigo will be included.
A favorite of DJs and touring musicians due to its quick travel time, the airport will close in November 2020.
