Safari Audio has released the Superkeys Cubby instrument plugin. It emulates a small 1980s Casio style home keyboard with bright digital tones.

Main Sound Features

The plugin offers four core sounds. These include piano, flute, violin and a fantasy preset based on early digital instruments. The tones are digital recreations rather than PCM samples. Users can also shape the sound with several controls.

Key options include:
– A Tone slider for basic color adjustment
– Sustain and De Tune for added movement
– Spring reverb for short room effects
– Width for stereo spread
– Direct or speaker output modes

Arpeggiator and Control Options

The arpeggiator provides three modes. It also offers octave range selection and tempo sync. This supports simple pattern creation and quick rhythmic ideas.

Design and Product Positioning

Safari Audio describes the instrument as “Simple sounds. Big feelings. Zero pressure.” The plugin aims to capture the feel of early digital home keyboards. It is also the first release in the Superkeys series.

Pricing and Availability

Superkeys Cubby is available now at a discounted price of 33 euro at Thomann. More information is available on the Safari Audio website.
