Behringer has been rather quiet of late, but with the launch of the Edge semi-modular percussion synth, it has just surged back into the spotlight.

Many have compared it to the Moog DFAM, which is also a semi-modular percussion synth. It features a distinctive pink chassis and promises a sound “as bold as its aesthetics.”

Dual VCOs with pulse and triangle waves, oscillator sync, and FM are used to produce this. There’s also a dual 8-step sequencer, a 15×10 patch matrix, and “extensive” MIDI support.

Edge is intended to be a companion piece for Behringer’s Crave synth, from which it pulls many design inspirations. It has a list price of $219, but we don’t know when it will be available.
